Robert F. Flanagan

Robert Francis Flanagan, (Bob) 96 of Bellerose NY passed away unexpectedly in Palm Bay, Florida on May 21, 2021.   Bob was born on January 17, 1925 in NY, NY to Dorinda (O’Rourke) Flanagan and John P Flanagan.

Bob served in the United States Navy during WWII on the USS Wingfield.

After the Navy Bob worked as an Electrician with IBEW Local 3 for 48 years.

He wed Maureen T Flanagan in 1949 and had four children:  Maureen Feeney (Rick), Robert F Flanagan Jr., Brian Flanagan (Pat) and Deirdre Pistone (Vinny). 

Bob was a strong, kind, loving and supportive Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. His giving nature and kindness was the foundation of his family.

Bob was predeceased by his wife Maureen, his son Robert, Jr, son in law Vinny, granddaughter Lili, brother John, sister Mae and his parents.

Bob’s pride and joy was his family. He adored his grandchildren Mauria Jacobi (Greg), Richie Feeney (Kathy), Kelly Pistone, Vincent Pistone (Rebecca), Thomas Pistone, and Austin Everhart (Maddie).  Bob, known as Grandpa Bob to them, was blessed with 9 Great Grandchildren: Emma, Nolan and Kiera Jacobi, Maeve and Finn Feeney, Colton Pistone and Quinn, Carys and Elsie Everhart.

Bob is survived by many loving nieces and nephews, sisters in law, Pat Flanagan and Joanne Flanagan and brother in law, Aedan Flanagan.

To know Bob was to love Bob. He will be dearly missed by all who ever met him.

Visitation, Tuesday June 1, 2021, 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00 pm-9:00 pm

Prayer Service will be during evening visitation

Burial at Calverton Cemetery, Wednesday June 2, 2021, 12 Noon
