Anthony Joseph Lardaro passed away on Sunday, May 17th, 2020 at St. Catherine’s Hospital in Suffolk County. Tony was born on Monday, January 30th, 1961 in Rockville Centre, New York.

Tony grew up in Westbury with his parents Bill and Frances, along with his sisters Ellen, Teresa, Donna, and Sharon, and his brothers, Terry and Jimmy. He went on to attend Duke University in Durham, North Carolina where he graduated with a B.S.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1983. He and his friends would reminisce about their countless memories they shared together at Duke for years. From then on, he would proudly represent Duke in all walks of life, and his nephew Robert and son Brett would one day follow in his footsteps.

Tony began working with John at Lovett Silverman Construction Consultants where he helped grow the business and later became the Vice President of the company. He then went on to become a Senior Vice President at J.S. Held LLC. Tony was regarded as a humble, patient, intelligent, and warm leader in the workplace.

He met his “Valkyrie Queen” Lynne in January of 1987 and married her in July of 1990. Tony became a father to his daughter Alex in June 1993 and again to his son Brett who was born on Father’s Day in June 1997. He would regard these moments as the happiest days of his life.

Tony was an avid runner. He’d get up most mornings to run at Sunken Meadow Park, training for countless races. After he ran the Long Island Marathon in 2008, he went on to run the New York City Marathon six times while his family ran through the streets and cheered him on. Tony was a golf fanatic despite his wife’s wishes, playing every chance he had with coworkers, friends, and family. He was frequently found reading a book, sometimes even more than one at a time, for he loved stories and storytelling.

One of his favorite activities was watching movies, whether it be alone in the den or in the theater with his children. He considered The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the James Bond franchise, and Mad Max: Fury Road as his favorite films. He would never hesitate to quote his favorite lines both to those close to him and complete strangers.

Tony also enjoyed relaxing on the beach with his family and drinking a “nice cold beer.” His favorite destinations were the Virgin Islands, Turks and Caicos, and Mosquito Island, but long walks on Fire Island with his wife became a cherished pastime.

He was a son, a brother, an uncle and a friend to many. He devoted his life to be a husband to Lynne and a father to Alex and Brett, putting them above everything and everyone else. He appreciated every moment of every day, bringing joy and positivity to those that he surrounded himself with.
