Bishop, Carolyn V. on September 5, 2019.   Surviving Carolyn are her dear sister Veronica (David) Waingraw. She was preceded in death by her dear brother William and sister in law, Antoinette.  Carolyn leaves behind, to mourn her passing, a devoted and large, loving family.  Many wonderful nieces and nephews; John, William, Tracy, Kristie, Joseph and Scott.  A loving, large group of great nieces and nephews; Haley, Amanda, Shannon, William, Lauren, Ryan, Rory, Kayla, TJ, Nicholas, Matthew, Joseph, McKenzie, Thomas, Katie, Brady and Addison.  She wasn’t just their aunt, she was another mother to them.  Carolyn could turn on the ‘motherly guilt’ better than anyone and she enjoyed giving all her devoted nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews a ‘taste’ of that guilt whenever she could.  Carolyn loved her cat but she loved all animals and wouldn’t hesitate to give her time and energy to love and help any of the 4 legged fur babies she met and encountered.  She possessed an independent, stubborn spirit that she carried with her throughout her life, especially on her travels.  Carolyn loved tennis and enjoyed playing a game or two with friends when time permitted. The family is devastated at her loss.    They will miss her wit, her spirit, her love of her animals, but most importantly, her love for her family, of which she was devoted.     Family will receive friends on Monday from 9-11:00 am at the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Homes, 47 Jerusalem Avenue (corner of West Marie Street), Hicksville, New York 11801.  Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Smithtown, NY.
