Marianne Grossi, age 65, died peacefully in her home on Sunday December 1, 2019 after a long and bravely fought battle against brain cancer. She was surrounded by her friends and family throughout the entire course of her illness.
Marianne was born in Brooklyn, to Lorretta and William Breslin, in 1954. She was raised in Bellerose with her 3 siblings, and graduated from Dominican Commercial High School. She married her husband Al in 1976, and eventually they settled in Floral Park, where she devoted her life to raising her 3 children. She was a member of St. Gregory the Great Church, and taught CCD there for many years. For almost 20 years, she worked in the main office at Elmont Memorial High School, a place that was very special to her.
Marianne was a joy to be around. She was kind, funny, and generous… always making those around her smile. She cherished her time with her many friends. She was the heart of her family and the most loving “Mimi” to her six grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Al Grossi; her children, Maureen Viksjo (Michael), John Grossi (Meredith) and Brian Grossi; her grandchildren Mikey, Claire, Nolan, Sean, Mary and Madeline; her mother Lorretta Breslin; her siblings Lorrie Brady (Dennis), Susan Aguilera, Michael Breslin (Linda); and her many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is pre deceased by her father William Breslin.
