Marilyn A Diaz

Diaz, Marilyn of Levittown, passed away on May 6, 2022 after a long illness. She was 81. Her daughters, sons-in-law, and sisters were by her side as they had been throughout her life. Marilyn is survived by her daughters Christina “Tina” Moskow (Neal), Linda Heiniman (Timothy), and Laura Quinn (Mark); her beloved grandchildren Kimberly, Nicholas, Samuel, Benjamin, Zachary, Ryan, Kelsey, Abigail and Mackenzie; her sisters Patricia O’Mahoney and Janice Brennan; sister-in-law Catherine Wisely; life-long dear friends; and many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was predeceased by her brothers, Charles and Thomas Wisely, and her sister-in-law, Elena Wisely. She loved them all.
Known as Micki or Grammy to her friends and family – and even her children’s and grandchildren’s friends, her happiest moments were spent with those she loved at beachfront vacations and family reunions, ball games, dance recitals, backyard bar-b-ques, and many rowdy family celebrations, holidays and meals. Grammy was smart, beautiful, funny, and kind; she was an avid reader with a quick wit and a hearty laugh. Her family was blessed by her words of wisdom, and they always felt especially lucky to have her sage advice available upon request. Fiercely independent and never wanting to be a burden, Micki was still telling her family and nurses that she was “fine, just a little tired” the night before she passed away.
Micki was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband of 47 years, Tony, whom she lost in 2007. She missed him dearly. All who love Micki take comfort in knowing that Grammy and Papa have been reunited, and that there is now another angel in heaven. Still, we miss her profoundly already – and we know that we always will.
The family will receive family and friends on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 4PM to 8PM at the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Homes, 2786 Hempstead Turnpike, Levittown, NY. Religious service Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 1PM, Parkway Community Church, Hicksville, NY. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to National Down Syndrome Society.
