Patricia Ann Selock

Patricia Ann (Gazzette) Selock, age 74, passed away peacefully holding her daughter, Diane’s hand on Wednesday, March 15, 2023.  Patricia’s passing was 3 days ahead of what would have been her 75th birthday. Patricia was born on March 18,1948 to the late Anthony and Louise (Franke) Gazzette in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, New York. She was raised there with her two younger brothers, Robert Gazzette and the late Gerald Gazzette.

Patricia received her high school diploma from St. Savior High School in Brooklyn, New York.  She earned her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Fordham University in the Bronx, New York. Patricia became a computer programmer using the Pascal programming language.

Patricia met her late husband, George in 1971. They married in 1972 and settled in Floral Park, New York.  They raised their 4 children together. She was the loving and devoted mother to Diane (Selock) and her husband William Dransfield, Michael and his wife Sharon Selock, Valerie (Selock) and her husband Christian Schefer, and Patty (Selock) and her husband Keith DeCarlo. Patricia and George divorced in 1995 after 23 years of marriage.Patricia was a stay-at-home Mom for many years and returned to work as a Nassau County worker for the Department of Assessment. She worked there for over 20 years before retiring.

Patricia was a Girl Scout Leader who loved each of the girls in her Troop as if they were her own.

Patricia was a devout Catholic and a member of the Rosary Alter Society at Our Lady of Victory Church in Floral Park, New York.

Patricia had an infinite love for her family.  She was a cherished mother, sister, aunt, and cousin.  She was the treasured sister to Robert and Marilyn and her late brother Gerald.  Patricia’s love for her 8 grandchildren knew no bounds: Britney, Christian, Aidan, Danica, Tyler, Madison, Miranda, and Deanna.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 2pm – 4pm and 7pm – 9pm at Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home, 29 Atlantic Avenue, Floral Park, New York.  Funeral Mass is Monday, March 20, 2023 at Our Lady of Victory Church in Floral Park, New York at 9:15am. Interment immediately following at Maple Grove Cemetery, 127-15 Kew Gardens Road, Kew Gardens, New York

Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer’s Association at https://act.alz.org.  This will honor Patricia’s loving memory to support research to find a cure for Alzheimer’s.
