Bob was born in Schenectady, New York, on January 13, 1949. He attended Colonie Central High School and graduated from C. W. Post College. He worked in Manhattan for New York State for what is now the NYS Dept. of Family Assistance for over 30 years.
In addition to enjoying the company of his many nieces and nephews, Bob loved our annual anniversary trip with friends, fly fishing, and, especially sailing. He took numerous schooner trips out of Maine. He also took boat building courses at Mystic Seaport and Newport, Rhode Island. After retiring, he volunteered at the Ida May Project in Oyster Bay working at building an oyster harvesting boat as part of preserving Oyster Bay’s maritime heritage. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to “The Christine Oyster Sloop Preservation Corp.” which administers the Ida May Project.
Robert E. Larsen survived by his wife, Noreen Stolz, his sister Eileen Shea and a large extended family.
