Sharron Horod passed away suddenly late Friday evening, October 4 from complications due to an infection while her children held her hands and said goodbye. She is survived by them; Sandra Tinelli (Rob), Marc Ryan (Kelly) and Rebecca Ryan and her five grandchildren, Melissa, Gina, Amberly, Brayden and Quinn. She is also survived by her brother Howie and his daughter Alison Kawliche (Alex). She was preceded in death by her father Jack and her mother Jeannette (just a short 5 months ago) who she cared for in Florida.
While she is gone too soon, Sharron was truly enjoying life as she had retired to Florida where she was, in her words, “living the dream”! She loved her many friends and she loved to travel, always combining the two. She also loved to shop and could always find the best bargain there was! Her Disney, Wizard of Oz and Gone With The Wind collections were spectacular and represented her personality so well!
Sharron was proud of her contributions to the NY State Courts where she worked for more than twenty years. Of her countless accomplishments and roles, she mostly enjoyed working alongside many of the judges. She was also very involved in the political landscape of Nassau County supporting several candidates and causes. In her children’s youth, Sharron was very active alongside them in organizations like the Franklin Square Warriors and the Troop 93 Mother’s Club, to name a few.
The family will receive visitors at Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home on 29 Atlantic Ave. Floral Park, NY 11001 on Thursday, October 10 from 2pm - 5pm and 7pm - 9pm and Friday, October 11 from 10-11 am concluding with a prayer service at 11 am.
