Ted Hogan Sr. was born on December 31, 1951 in Queens, New York. He was the youngest of eight to his parents Daniel Hogan Sr. and Earlean Hogan. Ted also known as “Big Ted” and “LowRider” passed away at age 71 on Sunday, September 10, 2023. 

Ted graduated from Forest Hills High School in 1970. Ted Hogan began working at Columbia University in 1980 where he found joy working as an I.T. Analyst until his final days. 

Ted met the love of his life Carla during his high school years at Forest Hills. Ted and Carla married on May 5, 1998 in Queens, New York. During their cherished times together, they enjoyed traveling on his motorcycle visiting family and friends, cooking, watching movies and jeopardy on the television, and spending time with their pet cat, Smokey. 

Upon discovering his love of motorcycles, he joined the NY Queens Chapter of the “Cobras” Motorcycle Club in 1978 where he managed the finances, maintain the club business, and mostly provided the driving of the four-wheel vehicles carrying club members who did not have transportation. He was very instrumental in many travels to Florida and other out-of-state journeys where they camped out and participated in events with other out of state clubs. During this time, he inherited the name “LowRider.” In his spare time, Ted also loved to work around the house, solving his Sudoku puzzle, watch his favorite sports (Baseball and Football) and Sci-Fi shows and movies on the television. 

Ted is preceded in his death by his loving parents, four brothers Nathaniel, Lionel, Rodney, Daniel Jr and one sister, Rita. He is survived by his loving wife Carla Hogan of 25 years, his brothers Stanley Hogan and Donald Hogan Sr., of Queens, NY. His four children, Ted Hogan Jr. and daughter in law, Fyzoon of Miramar, FL, Tamika Collins-Ingram and son in law, Kalvin of Tuscaloosa, AL, Christopher Martin of Houston, TX, and Melissa Martin of Greensboro, NC, 13 grandchildren, Vanisha, Dallas, Ayana, Angellisa, Thomas, Jakai, Madison, Jayden, Ne’jah, Maximus(Max), Naomi, Christen, and Kalvin Jr.(KJ), nieces, nephews, and as countless other family members, colleagues, and close friends who held him dear. 

Ted will be deeply missed and will forever be in the hearts of those he touched and left behind.
