Theresa M. Huber

September 8, 1925 ~ October 3, 2020 (age 95) 95 Years Old

Tribute

Theresa M. Huber lived with a joy that was infectious. Her parents, John and Molly Thompson, instilled in her a love of family, friends, and neighbors that she would carry from Brooklyn to Bellerose, and beyond. Theresa spent many years as caregiver for family and friends. A devoted member of St. Gregory the Great parish, Theresa was Regent for her chapter of the Catholic Daughters of America, influential member of St. Gregory’s Rosary Society, sunshine lady for the Golden Age Leisure Club, and an effervescent presence at the church festival for many years. Yet, Theresa was also strong and independent. In the days when married women were not even allowed to have a credit card in their own name, Theresa taught women to drive. When it finally became legal for wives to have credit cards, Theresa encouraged them to do so. These contributions would prove crucial to so many of her neighbors in the years to come.

Theresa went to her rest peacefully, without illness or pain, in the loving company of her sons Daniel and Seljuk, and the remarkable Juliet DeCordova whose love and care supported them all for more than seven years.
In addition to Daniel & Seljuk, Theresa is survived by; her children, Edward & June, Timothy & Linda, Kathleen & Robert; her grandchildren, Jennifer & Scott, Todd & Jody, Lauren & Joseph, Kevin & Christine, and Edward; her great-grandchildren, Declan, Giovanna, Scarlett, Cameron, Kaitlyn, Megan, Andrew, Christian, and Adrian; her siblings, John & Mary, Robert & RoseAnn, and Kathleen; along with countless loving nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

In her passing, Theresa joins her loving husband of 67 years Edward H. Huber; her brothers, Richard and Thomas; her sisters, Dorothy and Patricia; and her beloved daughter Laura.

Theresa’s life is truly one to be emulated and celebrated.
