American Veteran 01

Thomas P McGuire

April 19, 1947 ~ March 30, 2024 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Thomas P. Mc Guire was born in Astoria Queens to parents Patrick and Vesta Mc Guire. He was followed by a brother Timothy and a sister Patricia.  He attended Catholic schools St Joseph’s and Rice High School. He joined the military enlisting in the Navy and served proudly as a Medic with the Marines.  He toured in Vietnam and he was highly decorated and honorably discharged from his service.

Thomas was an avid Yankees and Giants fan.  He enjoyed following the sports with his brother in law Mike, and would have strong opinions regarding the players and their performances at the games. This made for some very lively discussions around the table!

He enjoyed family dinners on Sundays, with all the noise, confusion and chaos that his sister’s grandchildren, 2 huge dogs and assorted visitors could bring. He loved Mike’s cooking and always thanked him for the meals.  Sundays will not be the same without him.

Thomas in his later years was a gentle soul, who valued his relationships with his family, and would be ready to help whenever asked. He attended church regularly and followed his Catholic faith.  He enjoyed oldies music and would often sing with his sister in the car on the rides home. Thankfully there are no witnesses to the singing.

God bless you Tommy, we will surely miss you.
