Virginia I. Malley

Virginia I. Malley, 82, resident of Garden City, NY passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018. 

Virginia was born on May 30th 1935 in Sacramento, California.

Virginia was a deeply caring person, long-time champion of the underdog, and a committed advocate for social justice.  She worked as a lab technician at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY, until 2000 but her true passion was the work she did as a Union Representative for SEIU-1199. 

In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her beloved dog CeCe, and vacationing in Arizona and attending concerts with her best friend Fran Sorrento. 

She is survived by a large and loving family, whom were spread across the globe including children Cara and Wayne Eckstein, of Nashua NH Kevin and Fermy Malley of Garden City NY, Jamie and Narcissia Malley Vicenza Italy.  Her grandchildren and their families Dan and Kristin Eckstein of Chandler AZ, Laura Eckstein and Dan Bliss of Stoneham Mass, Giulia and Lucia Malley of Vincenza Italy, and her youngest grandson,  Ryan Malley of Garden City NY. She also loved spending time with her great grandchildren, Aidan, Griffin, and Brennan all of Chandler AZ.
