Warren John Hance Sr., 82, of Floral Park, NY died peacefully in his home of natural causes. Mr. Hance was born Jul 23,1938, in Queens General Hospital, to John and Clara Hance. He attended Sewanhaka High School in Floral Park, graduating in 1957. He was a member of the Track and Field Team competing in shot put. As a member of the football team he excelled as a Fullback, and was awarded the Tom McVeigh Memorial Trophy. He was a retired USPS Letter carrier. He served his community achieving the rank of 2nd Lt. in Reliance Engine Company, FP Volunteer Fire Dept. He enjoyed spending time with his family and volunteering his time coaching his children’s sports teams in their youth. Some of his favorite hobbies included family camping, bike riding, weight lifting, fishing and watching sports; especially his beloved NY Mets.
Mr. Hance is survived by his children John Hance and his wife Maggie Boland, Warren Hance Jr. and his wife Jacquelyn Hance, David Hance and his wife Courtney Hance, and his grand-children Melanie, Willa, Bryan and Kasey. He is also survived by his brothers Gerard, Richard and Peter Hance, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Diane Schuler and his grand-daughters Emma, Alyson, Katie and Erin.
Visitation will be held at Dalton’s Funeral Home in Floral Park on Wednesday July 21, from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday July 22, at 9:15 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church, followed by a service at The Cemetery of the Holy Rood, Westbury NY.
