MEMO ON PAYMENT FOR: THE ROBINSON’S KIDS (VERY IMPORTANT)

The Robinson’s Kids is a grassroots initiative dedicated to improving the lives of children living in Rochester, New York. They are exposed to vulnerable, high risk life situations. This program is part of “The Missions Door” which offers a range of community programs. The children involved in The Robinson’s Kids initiative have many personal challenges and lack the support and guidance necessary to succeed in life.   Davindranauth (David) Brijlall was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend and neighbor. He believed in fairness, second chances and being deliberate in one’s actions. David and Doris Brijlall have supported the Robinson’s Kids for many years and experienced the impact made in these children’s lives first hand. Many of these young lives deserve an opportunity for a future and a way to positively participate in society.   Funds donated to The Robinson’s Kids help send the kids to summer camp each year and provide academic and social support throughout the school year with planned afterschool activities. The goal is to give second chances, a path for moving forward and teaching the children how to make positive choices throughout life.

Thank you for considering our wishes,

The Brijlall Family

Obituary for: Davindranauth Brijlall

(December 22, 1942 to September 4, 2016)

Davindranauth Brijlall was born in Fyrish Village, Corentyne, Guyana, South America. He served in the Guyana police force from 1960 to 1970. He and Doris Sherena Sattaur married and migrated to the United States, arriving on February 14, 1970. Known to his relatives as “Alan”; to his friends as “Brij”; to his colleagues as “David”, he was simply “Dad” to his children (Shereen & David) and “Papa” to his grandson. He was an Accountant by trade, had a keen entrepreneurial spirit, and was a lifelong learner. In his spare time, he loved to garden, share the fruits of his labor with everyone, travel to historical destinations, and watching western movies. He was an excellent provider for his family and wisely left all decisions to his wife (Doris). His love for the sport of cricket evolved into a love for baseball. He was a loyal New York Yankee fan since the early 1970s. He loved his dogs, all of whom were rescued by him: Duchess, Bear, Blondie, Pebbles, and Girl. He was always proud of his children’s academic and professional accomplishments. His grandson Stephen was his “little guy”; they especially enjoyed singing hymns together. Their favorite was “Stand Up, Stand Up For Jesus”. He will be missed.
