Mrs. Geri Kelly of Long Beach, NY on November 30, 2019 peacefully passed away at home and found eternal peace in heaven. Born the eldest child of Dominic and Emma Esposito in Brooklyn, NY, she had many fond memories of friends and fun on McDonald Ave. Geri spent her life devoted to raising her four kids on Avenue M, an active member of Mary Queen of Heaven Parish where she taught CCD classes and enjoyed many parish events with her neighborhood friends. Later in life, while still raising her children, she returned to school to obtain both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education. She spent the next 20 years teaching elementary school, where she was much adored and respected. She was an avid fan of Billy Joel, the NY Yankees, reading newspapers and crime dramas. Geri made the best chicken cutlet on the planet and was a true matriarch of a very rowdy bunch. Above all, she was the biggest fan and cheerleader of her 12 grandchildren, who she adored with every piece of her being. Geri was the beloved wife of Frank, loving mother of Denise Grueneberg (Keith), Christine Marquino (Larry), Erin Noonan (Joseph), Frank Kelly (Iliana), cherished grandmother of Joanna, Erin, Nicole, Larry, Brenna, Danny, Lia, Emma, Brigid, Anastasia, Francesca and Dominic. Family and friends may visit Monday, 7pm-9pm and Tuesday, 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home in Floral Park, NY. Mass Wednesday at 10:30 at St. Ignatius R.C. Church, Long Beach, NY.
In lieu of flowers we would be honored if you’d like to donate to her favorite charity, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
