Tribute

Louise LoCicero, age 100, passed away peacefully at her home in Bellerose, NY, on October 10, 2020.  She was the daughter of Juan and Rosita Ochoa, late of Massapequa, NY, and the sister of John Ochoa, late of Chicago, IL.  In 1946, she married her beloved Anthony LoCicero, who passed in 1996. Two sons, Robert and John, and her sister-in-law, Mary, survive her.
After some difficult years and always being a strong anchor for her family, Louise worked for many years as a keypunch card operator for Binney & Smith Co., maker of Crayola crayons.  From the Ochoa’s and the LoCicero’s in New York and from dear older friends, Sylvia and Lou, and Stephen and Gwen, there was vital support. With her husband Tony she was later able to enjoy some years of travel adventures to China, Europe and throughout the USA, acting upon her love of reading in history, fiction and biography.  Together they went out to the theater, the ballet and music concerts, meeting and making new friends.
As her extended family grew in Chicago, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, and in new branches from India, Louise always took great comfort and pleasure in the accomplishments of the younger generation, soon enough adults with children of their own.
Louise will be well remembered for her loving attentions by these several generations of family.
She was to able to remain at home during her last years through the caregiving efforts of Regina, her long term aide and companion and by Thelma, from the Home Hospice Network.
