Mary Ann Reid

After a long and wonderful life, our loving mother, Mary Ann Reid, passed away in peace on January 31st, 2023. She was 95. Born on July 17, 1927 to Ida and Andrew Capasso, she was raised in a loving and hardworking family with her sisters, Fanny and Ida, and her brothers Lou and Roger. After her education, she began working at the LIC Savings Bank, where she met her future husband, Jim Reid, after he returned home from serving in WWII. They married in April 1949, settled in Floral Park and were together for over 60 years. She was a devoted and dedicated mother to her six children Elizabeth, Christopher, James, Michael, Joseph, and Andrew, a loving grandmother to Michael, Peter, Amy, Matthew, Christopher, Louis, James, Madeline, Patrick, and Natalie. Blessed with her great grandchildren, Reid, Mason, Louie, and Holden. Mary Ann lived her life guided by love and a spirit of service to her community, her church, and those in need. A woman of great faith, she shared her hope and insight, her happiness and love with everyone she knew. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all those who shared a brief moment or a lifetime with her.

Visiting hours are Sunday February 5th, from 2 to 4pm, and then 7 to 9pm. Her funeral mass is Monday February 6th at Our Lady of Victory Church at 9:45AM. Mom's burial will take place at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, NY.
