Richard "Richie" James Carter, age 31, passed away suddenly  at his home in Long Beach, on Tuesday, September 25th.  He was born in Manhasset, to Richard and Barbara (Canavan) Carter.  Richard grew up in Williston Park, and was a 2005 graduate of Mineola High School.  Richie had a gentle soul, which was best exemplified in his love of family, friends, music, sports, and most recently his girlfriend Kathryn, who was lovingly by his side in his final minutes.  A talented, self taught musician, Richie found his passion playing guitar, and creating music. He loved the New York Jets and all things football.  With his comforting nature, he found his calling as an EMT, where he thrived on helping people.  Richie's kind and empathetic smile, will forever be engraved in the hearts of those whose lives he graced.  Richard is survived, and will be deeply missed by, his parents Richard and Barbara Carter, his sisters Erin Maier (Thomas), Jamie Gallagher (Patrick), and Katie Carter and his girlfriend, Kathryn Dispensa.  His memory will also live on in his nieces and nephews, Naomi, Luke, Madelyn, Max, his aunts Susan Canavan, Carol Gallivan and many more aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
